Usage and billing
Understand trial terms, MAR, query budgets, payment states, limits, and lapsed retention.
Usage controls are Account-scoped and visible in Settings. Commercial terms can be configured per Account; the values below describe the launch defaults shown by the product.
Trial and price
- 5 million MAR included without a card;
- another 20 million free MAR after adding a card;
- seven-day card-backed trial;
- $5 per million MAR after the trial, prorated;
- no public base charge or minimum;
- payment details handled by Stripe.
Monthly active records
MAR measures records that changed at the trusted lake commit boundary. Extracted, staged, retried, duplicate, or unchanged records are not automatically separate billable changes. Usage is grouped by billing window. The product does not claim that provider-reported row totals equal billed MAR.
Query usage
The default monthly query input budget is 100 GiB per Account. Usage shows estimated scanned bytes and query count. Each query also has a 256 MiB estimated-input ceiling, and grants can lower it. Estimates are admission and governance facts, not cloud billing precision.
Payment states
Cardless and card-backed trial Accounts operate normally within their MAR allowance. Subscription and payment state control later banners and admission behavior. Past-due, grace, or action-required states direct an Owner to Billing. A blocked state prevents new paid work and explains retention. Do not create a second checkout when the Account already has a Stripe subscription; use the Billing Portal.
Lapse and deletion
The default lapsed-trial recovery window is 14 days. During that window the Account may be recovered under effective policy. After it expires, durable deletion becomes eligible. Source deletion is separate and begins immediate revocation even for an active Account.
Limits are layered
Platform, Account, billing, principal, grant, Source, and request limits combine by taking the
strictest applicable bound. A client-supplied maxRows or grant can reduce work but cannot raise an
Account or platform ceiling.
